Hats for the babies

This summer I decided to make hats for my two grandbabies as part of their Christmas presents.

For Little O I chose a sun bonnet pattern I used to make for my baby girls. It is an old NZ Plunket pattern and the best I found to use for little ones who love to pull their hats off.
Master D’s is also a plunket pattern… though I need to adjust it as it was a lot larger than I expected!

Little O’s bonnet is adjustable. There are popper studs at the back so that it can be made larger as baby grows. Both the babies hats are made of cotton. A sweet floral fabric for Little O. I lined it with the same fabric on the inside.

All photos taken by Mrs A Little O Sunshine blog. These photos were taken at a local park.

This view shows the skirt at the back to protect wee necks from the sun, and long ties.
These next shots were taken when we were camping during the summer. Master D in his hat. The inside is lined with a pale blue fabric.
Cool camoflage fabric for a lad, and a flap at the back
Cousins together, Little O and Master D, ready to take off as they’d had enough of having thier photos taken 🙂
Both babies wore their hats a lot during the summer. Mrs A commented that it was the only hat that Little O would keep on her head. Master D also kept his on as I attached ties to his as well.
I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
